And don’t be too hung up about following the latest fashion trends…
In our search for top clothing suggestions, we unearth quite a number of wild and wacky online articles, but every now and again one stands out by providing a few really useful tips in a really down-to-earth way.
One such is a recent article on the Stylenest blog, which focusses on six personal style transforming how-tos. Written by Charlie Bloom, the piece combines some really sensible suggestions with the intention of helping readers who are either looking to establish a personal style, or even change the one they already have.
Make colour your friend
It can be easy to play it safe whenever you’re shopping for clothes, by sticking with the tried and tested monochromes. But embracing colour can be the first step in your new direction – as long as you take into account your skin tone and hair colour, advises Charlie.
“Don’t be afraid of colour, especially if your wardrobe is overstocked with neutrals and monochrome. The colours we wear have a genuine effect on how we feel and how others treat us…”
She also comes up with a point that we couldn’t agree with more – don’t keep things for best.
“If you wait for the perfect event for an outfit, you could be waiting forever, and the chances are that it will no longer be in fashion when the time comes.”
…and as usual – don’t forget the shoes!
