It’s not just your clothes – you need to consider you as well!
Of course it’s vitally important that any woman’s outfit makes sense from a colour point of view. Do you want to convey a mood or reflect the changing weather? Do you want your choice of clothes to reflect your attitude?
This is one of the key arguments made by Vanessa Rodriguez in an article on the Stylishlyme website. She argues that you should review your colour palette of the colours that you intend to wear, in order to reflect your intended attitude. Is your desired outcome “…subdued, bright, or contrasting?” she asks.
Take you into consideration as well!
The clothes are only part of the calculation that you need to make, says the article. You own physical colours and skin tones must also be taken into account.
“Make sure the colors in your outfit complement not only each other but your skin tone too.”
Check out the image at the top of this article – the dark hair and trousers reflect the black base colour, with the highlight bronze of the top matching the wearer’s skin tones really well!
The article also includes useful tips from Rodriguez’s “Getting ready checklist” which also include:-
- Does it fit?
- Is it flattering?
- Is it balanced?
- What does this outfit say about me?
As she says in her summing up – “First impressions are everything, and it only takes an instant before one is formed. Give the impression you want.“
